TEMPORARY GRADUATE 485 VISA
The Temporary Graduate Visa is a visa option for international students who have completed their studies at an Australian educational institution and want to stay, work and study in Australia for a limited period of time.
The visa has two streams that cater to different types of graduates: the Graduate Work stream and the Post-Study Work stream. The visa can help international students extend their stay in Australia and improve their chances of obtaining a permanent or provisional skilled visa.
Which stream is suitable for me?
You can only hold one Temporary Graduate visa in your lifetime as a primary applicant. You need to choose one of the two streams based on your qualifications and circumstances: the Graduate Work stream or the Post-Study Work stream. These streams have some similarities and some differences.
The Graduate Work Stream
The Graduate Work stream is for international students who have an eligible qualification and have graduated with skills and qualifications that match an occupation on the list of eligible skilled occupations.
Post-Study Work Stream
The Post-Study Work stream is for international students who have a higher education degree from an Australian education provider, regardless of their field of study. This stream is only open to students who applied for and received their first Australian student visa on or after 5 November 2011.
